M3GPS PAPAGO! Navigation software is developed by Maction Technologies Inc., from Taiwan and is continuously being updated and improved from time-to-time to ensure a better end-user experience. As with any other technology product e.g. software products from Apple, Microsoft, etc., new versions require changes in programming, database, map structure, compiler updates and other integral parts of the software to bring a better end product to the consumers. These updates are in-line with the hardware device technology improvements and are essential to bring new features and functionalities to the navigation software. This practise is the same for devices such as iPhone which has improvements in iOS or even Mac OSX , from Leopard , Lion...etc

The unique collaboration between Maction, M3GPS and the mapping communities have resulted in an affordable quality software product for the masses.

In pursuit of this excellence, Maction and M3GPS is committed to offer free upgrades for all licensed and original M3GPS PAPAGO! software users across all platforms from WinCE, Windows Mobile, iOS and Android. This free upgrade policy will continue to be adopted by Maction and M3GPS across for all genuine PAPAGO! users. In fact, M3GPS PAPAGO! is the only software which provides free upgrades across devices , old and new. As compared to other brand devices, the software is tied up to the firmware which do not have that flexibilities in fact, some known brand has change the map format that resulted in old user/device not able to take in Junction View and also Lane Assist...etc.

Existing users of PAPAGO! X3, X5, X6, Reality 7 and PAPAGO! X8 can upgrade to the latest X8.5 version. An upgrade option to X8.5 version will be provided and made available for ALL original and licensed PAPAGO! software users. PAPAGO! M8 will be released to support compatible Android and Windows Mobile devices. PAPAGO! M8 maps for Android and Windows Mobile are compatible with PAPAGO! X8.5 version.

The latest version of PAPAGO! X8.5 for PAPAGO! and WayWay PNDs can be obtained from directly from our office or through the appointed Service Centers for Northern, Central and Southern regions.

* A service charge may be levied at the Service Centres for installation and support if your device warranty period has lapsed.

2. For OEM Brand Portable GPS Navigators and OEM Car On-Board Unit (OBU) Navigation Systems

For OEM Versions (aplicable for OEM PND and OBU), please refer to the SD Card Exchange Programme below for your upgrade options.


Existing M3GPS OEM users (for PND and OBU hardware) who have registered the software online at can choose to upgrade to the latest version by exchanging the original SD Card with the latest version.

Please courier the following :
1. Original SD Card with M3GPS OEM Navigation Software
2. Copy of Cash Bill/Invoice from supplier (indicating proof of purchase)
3. Self addressed envelope and contact details (so that we can return you the updated SD Card)

Kindly note that the OEM SD CARD EXCHANGE PROGRAMME upgrade is only available for original and genuine M3GPS OEM Navigation Software purchased directly from M3 Asia Sdn Bhd and authorized OEM Licensees. To be eligible for the SD CARD EXCHANGE PROGRAMME upgrade, users must show proof of purchase including original PAPAGO! hologram stickers and serial number labels.


  • The SD Card Exchange programme is also available through the PND and OBU hardware vendor. PAPAGO! OEM users are encouraged to contact your vendor to find out more about the SD Card Exchange Programme.   • Since there are many OEM hardware for both Portable GPS Navigators and Car On-Board Unit (OBU) Navigation System, it is important to identify the hardware model, type and version. The M3GPS OEM Navigation Software X8.5 upgrade can only be provided if the specific hardware model can be identified. If you are unsure of your hardware model, please contact your hardware vendor to obtain the specific model information. 
  • The upgrading of SD Cards may require 3-7 days depending on the model and period.


If you believe or suspect the PAPAGO! software that you’re using is not original, please visit and learn how to differentiate between original and pirated software. If you are a victim of software piracy, please provide supporting details and in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Consumerism and Cooperatives (KPDNKK), we can bring action against these unscrupulous sellers. Lastly, the M3GPS Support Team is working on release v2.0 to the M3GPS Web-Updater. This upcoming v2.0 release will enable registered software users to download future software and map updates easily online. The M3GPS Web-Updater v2.0 will be offered for download for free and users can also update the software and maps automatically for FREE online.
